Fr Kevin's Celebration Event

Published Date: 11th September 2021

When Fr Kevin moved to his new home at Holy Cross Priory last summer it wasn't possible to gather together to thank him for the wonderful twenty five years he spent as our Parish Priest here at St Mary's. However, on Sunday 5th September, thanks to Fr Dominic and an enthusiastic team of volunteers, a gathering of 120 parishioners took place to welcome Fr Kevin back for the day, not only to celebrate his twenty five years with us but also to mark the 60th Anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.

Fr Kevin really enjoyed his visit and meeting some of his former parishioners. After the event, he sent us the following message:

I wish to thank Fr Dominic and the organisers for the wonderful occasion on Sunday 5th September. It was a very happy, if sometimes emotional, experience.

I found it quite wonderful that so many people wanted to see me after 18 months of retirement.

I would also like to thank all those who were unable to attend but sent me cards and kind messages.

I am so grateful for all the kindness and support you all gave me during my 25 years in Crowborough. It was a great part of my life.

God bless.

Fr Kevin
