Father Kevin Griffin
Our current Parish Priest, Fr Kevin Griffin, hails from Yorkshire where he was born in Horsforth, a suburb of Leeds, in February 1937. His education commenced at the Parish School - co-incidentally also named St. Mary's - in Horsforth in 1942 and he remained a pupil there for ten years.

From there, having realised he had a vocation to the priesthood, he went to Mount Melleray Abbey at Cappoquin, County Waterford, Republic of Ireland in 1952 to complete his eductaion and commence his religious studies. He remained there until 1958 when he transferred to St. John's Theological College in Waterford City for the final part of his vocational training. He completed this in 1961 and was ordained a priest on June 16th in that year in his home parish of Horsforth.

Following his ordination he served for varying lengths of time in the following parishes in Yorkshire:
St Patrick's, Sheffield
St Patrick's, Huddersfield
St Augustine's, Leeds
Christ the King, Bramley, Leeds
Our Lady of Victories, Keighley

He transferred to the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton to serve at St Catherine's, Heathfield, East Sussex and then as Parish Priest at St Anselm's, Hindhead, Surrey, before being appointed as our Parish Priest in August 1995.

He has one brother who has his own family and lives in Suffolk.
